Lange & Freeskier & All you skiers out there! I'm your girl and this is my gig! I learned to ski in NH when I was just 3 years old. I grew up racing for Gunstock Ski CLub and for my high school team. After graduation, I moved to Boulder, CO to attend CU - Go Buffs! I'm a racer girl turned powder hound. After all that edging on ice, it was easy skiing in deep snow. I'm an all-mountain girl always looking to get some fresh tracks. After earning my BA in English Lit., I moved to Breckenridge to teach skiing. Sensible move, I thought ... I even coached the men's airline race league! Later, I returned to CU for my Master's in Elementary Education. Yes, it's okay to be well read, highly educated AND be an awesome skier! From Front Range to Western Slope, I've skied -em all. Breck., A-Basin, Keystone, Copper, Winter Park and Loveland. Now, living West of Vail, I call Beaver Creek and Vail my home resorts. What a lucky girl! Maybe even the Lucky Lange Girl! Besides skiing, you'll find me mountain biking, trail running or water skiing. I just finished my 4th triathlon, so I definitely clock my time swimming, biking and running. I travel my fair share! I sailed around the world on Semester at Sea. Talk about a blast with a bunch of friends! I've walked the Great Wall of China, hot air ballooned on safari in Kenya, paused to ponder at the Taj Mahal, India and cruised hut to hut via motorbike in Malaysia. I also lived on Maui, HI for a summer crewing on a catamaran and wokring for Maui Dive Shop. Oh yah, besides skiing, I'm a huge diver: Cozumel, Belize, Fiji & New Zealand. Gotta love the calming rush! I love a great adventure! I've skied Treble Cone & Craigieburn, NZ too! Most Americans aren't used to skiing with a harness and a nutcracker. After getting off the high speeed tow line, I hiked to the top peak and headed down the chute in some soft rental boots after losing my boots in the travels. It took me a few turns to get used to the harness and get my feet under me, but talk about the power of a nice stiff boot, like Lange's Race Boot! Don't ask me to borrow boots again!! Why should I be the next Lange Girl? I'm a total tomboy and girly too - athletic, strong yet feminine - that's sexy! I love the snow and the beach, skiing high above tree line or a deep sea dive. I love a long hard run or an afternoon with my tips up, a crazy night out or cuddlin' up with a good read. As for powder days - talk about heaven on earth, a perma grin and the euphoria at the end of the day. There's nothing better than cozying up with a hot skim chai after a day on the slopes, oh yah there is, an ice cold one on a sunny slope-side deck with all your friends!!! I'm right for the role, and I look the part! I know and love the slopes of Colorado! I can walk the walk and ski to prove it! I'm your Rocky Mountain skier chick that's just right to be your 2011 Local Lange Girl!
